  1. Such a wonderful listing! I was fully expecting many birds to be left without their pictures, or the details otherwise incomplete, as happens on so many sites. But I was happily surprised to see that was not the case. Thank you for your painstaking and generous contribution to the study of birds in India. I am a lay enthusiast who, over the last eight years, have been building a small wildlife garden in my backyard in UP, and at last count, there were over 26 species of bird visitors. I was looking to identify three new birds that I saw last week. One was some species of small woodpecker, the other looked like a mynah, except for shorter legs and pretty different colouring. And the third was a dull brown bird which scooted into the brush, looking like it belonged to the quail family.
