Kochi is a cluster of islands and mainland all connected through ferries and bridges, and remains a testimony to the various Dutch, Jewish, Portuguese colonies settled there over centuries. The Cultural Heritage & Wildlife of India tour brings you a fascinating combination of historical sites, Indian culture, and traditional food, with a tantalising taste of wildlife experiences and maybe an encounter with a ‘big cat’.

From Delhi’s Chandni Chowk and Qutub Minar, to the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur and some of Rajasthan’s finest forts and palaces, to the most famous global monument of love, the Taj Mahal in Agra. Unique architecture and spirituality await with the temple sculptures at Khajuraho, and the colour and bustle of India’s holiest city, Varanasi.

This exciting family tour combines two of the country’s most fascinating cultural and ancient sites, namely Khajuraho and Varanasi, and an opportunity to see Tigers at Bandhavgarh.

Starting in Delhi, we visit Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial at Raj Ghat, the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Jama Masjid and India Gate, before our overnight train to the ancient holy city of Varanasi. From there we fly to Khajuraho to see the magnificent template complex, best known for their depictions of various explicit sexual poses: the kamasutra in stone.

We then drive through rural Madhya Pradesh to Bandhavgarh, where we are almost guaranteed to see Tigers on our jungle safaris, as well as many other mammals and birds.

North India has much to offer for those visiting India for the first time. To get a true taste of the culture and history of the region, nothing is better than the “Golden Triangle” of Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra. It would be remiss however, to not get a taste of the rich wildlife of this region, so we also visit the Leopard-rich forests of Jhalana and the bird-filled wetlands of Bharatpur.

The very best of India’s heritage, culture and wildlife! The famous Golden Triangle from Delhi to Jaipur and Agra includes sites such as Chandi Chowk and the Qutub Minar, the Hawa Mahal and Amber Fort, and the indescribable monument of love, the Taj Mahal.

In between will be a memorable safari experience at Ranthambhore National Park, and its majestic wild Tigers.

Our tour begins at the picturesque hamlet of Pangot, a birder’s paradise. Then on to Mukteshwar hill station and Abbott Mount, with its European bungalows and well-maintained gardens and orchards. Up to an altitude of 2,298 we reach Munsiyari, known for its panorama of the snow-capped Himalayan Range, including Panchachuli (the five peaks), Nanda Devi and Nanda Kot.

We then head “down” to Ranikhet and finally Corbett National Park. Besides Tigers the park has over 600 species of birds.
